12 MINE SOUTH, A-PIT

A tracksite with extensive ankylosaur (Tetrapodosaurus borealis) tracks which was the only vertebrate ichnotaxon to be found.

Photograph (upper) and trackway map illustration (lower) of the 12 Mine South, A-Pit tracksite.

A pair of lengthy ankylosaur trackways to the left of the pressure ridge (some tracks are stained orange from the mineral limonite).

This site slowly fell to pieces during the summer of 1998, before it could be documented.

Even though it was only on a 40 degree slope this site was one of the most dangerous in the mine.
